First Baby Naming
Yesterday one of my best friends, Katharine, and I were given the wonderful opportunity of officiating at a baby naming ceremony. This was actually the first time Katharine or I have officiated at any rites of passage, and I'd like to thank Tony and Lorna, the proud parents, for giving us the opportunity.
Oscar Robin, the baby, was smiley and very tolerant of strange priestess women waving candles and incense around him, and his 2-year-old triplet elder brothers were very well behaved and happy too. All in all, the only thing misbehaving was the wind, which was rather strong, causing me to have to re-light said incense and candles about every 5 minutes!
The rite went well, and I hope we can do more in the future. It's a real privilege to be able to be a part of an important moment in someone's life like that. I have added a picture of our rather windswept but beautiful altar, complete with Lorna's monster cakes, Katharine's God & Goddess figures, and Tony's wand.
Bright Blessings, Oscar and family!
