This is a very thorough reference book covering hundreds of herbs, plants and trees used in or important to Western magic. Appearance, cultivation, lore, correspondences and use of the herbs are all covered in the main alphabetical listing of the herbs, and there are extra sections covering dyes, festivals and much, much more.  The level of knowledge of the authors is huge, this book must be the result of a lifetime's study and use of herbs.

The only negative comment I would make about this book is the lack of colour illustrations. As it is my copy is covered with pencil scribblings cross referencing with various plant identification books, if it were reprinted with a colour photograph of each plant, this book would be perfect!
